How do I setup a WAN Phone?

  1. Set the Extension / Advanced / Location field to “WAN”.
  2. Your IP1500 should have a static IP behind your firewall/router.
  3. Your firewall/router needs to forward these ports to the IP1500:
  • SIP 5060 - 5062 (Protocol Both)
  • RTP - 10000-20000 (Protocol Both)
On the phone you will need to:
  1. Set the ‘Proxy Server’ to the external IP of your firewall. (You can find your external IP with whatismyip.com)
  2. Set the ‘Proxy Port’ to 5060.
If you are using the Aastra model phones, the default username and password for the phone is: admin, 22222
With pre 1.0.1 database IP1500 machines, you can change these settings directly on the phone via Options / Sip Settings.
Later versions of the IP1500 allow you to set custom SIP settings for Aastra phones via the IP1500 web interface.
