Why are my analog ports not working?

The analog interface uses one or two IP addresses depending upon if there is an expansion module installed on your IP1000.

If there isn't an expansion module installed than the system will use .2 of the whatever the subnet is configured for on the router IP of the 1000. If there is an expansion module installed it will use .2 & .3.

Be sure that there aren't any devices on those IP's. You can do this by hooking a computer up to the same network and in Windows go to a coomand prompt. To get to a command prompt go to Start > Run and type cmd. A DOS type interface will appear and you need to type ping (x.x.x.2) replacing x with your subnet. If you get no reply than the IP addresses are open, if there is a reply without the IP1000 hooked to the network than there will be an IP conflict.

To solve any IP conflict you have two possible solutions.

  1. Change the IP address of the conflicting device(s).
  2. Change the IP address used for the analog interfaces. (How do I change the IP addresses of my IP1000 analog interfaces.)
